Tigo Energy questions, answered
- Do Tigo optimizers mean my home already has a storage system?
- No. Panel-level optimizers or shutdown equipment do not identify a storage inverter, battery or transfer arrangement. Ask the contractor to distinguish those roof components from the EI or GO equipment in the proposed home installation. The quote should show what remains, what is added and whether roof work is included. A system-level handover needs to cover battery operation as well as any panel monitoring. If another company installed the array, agree who coordinates support for retained devices and new storage rather than leaving that responsibility unclear after commissioning.
- What should my Tigo Energy installation include?
- Tigo’s US residential storage offering includes inverter and battery-system products. Installing Tigo optimizers or rapid-shutdown equipment alone is a different scope from installing its home-storage solution. State whether the quote is for EI or GO storage equipment and list the components. Clarify whether existing module-level devices will remain or need changes. Include the transfer equipment and commissioning required for the proposed backup scope.
- What should I check before choosing Tigo Energy?
- Tigo components on existing panels do not establish that the home already has a Tigo storage-ready system. Is this a complete Tigo storage system or only panel-level equipment? Which EI or GO components are being installed? How will the inverter, battery and transfer equipment be tested together?
- Who supports a completed Tigo Energy installation?
- Ask for a system-level handover that covers storage operation as well as panel monitoring, where those features are part of the design.
