- Does SigenStor work with solar I already have?
- The Sigen Energy Controller is a hybrid solar inverter, so on a home with existing solar the honest answer is that it replaces your current inverter rather than sitting beside it. That is fine if the inverter is old or you are re-doing the system; it is a real cost if it is recent and healthy. Ask the installer to say plainly what happens to your existing inverter under the quote.
- Is the SigenStor UL 9540 listed in the US?
- Sigenergy’s US battery modules are listed to UL 9540 and UL 9540A among other North American standards, per the datasheet distributors publish for the US module. Your installer files the listing with the permit and interconnection paperwork; ask them to confirm the exact module model on the quote is the US-listed one.
- How does the EV charging actually work?
- An optional DC charging module sits in the same stack as the battery and the controller, so the car charges on DC fed from the battery and the panels rather than through your home’s AC circuits. It is the feature no other brand in this comparison offers as part of the battery system. If you do not have an EV, it does nothing for you and should not be in the quote.
- How many SigenStor modules do I need?
- Enough to cover your evening load with a margin, and more if the plan includes an outage or an EV. Because capacity grows by adding modules, you can start modestly and add later without rewiring — which is the honest answer to most sizing questions. Have the installer confirm how many modules the stack can take and where the tower stands.
- Is Sigenergy a safe bet as a newer brand in the US?

What it does not yet have is a decade of American walls behind it or the installer depth of Tesla and Enphase. - It can, within the limits of the controller’s output and how many modules you have — the backup scope depends on the transfer hardware and your main panel, not on the battery alone. Ask the installer to list the circuits that stay live and whether that needs a backup sub-panel or a whole-home transfer arrangement.
- Where does a SigenStor tower go?
- On the floor, against a wall, in a spot that stays inside its operating temperature range. It is a stack rather than a wall-hung box, so it needs floor space and clearance to add modules later.
