EcoFlow OCEAN Pro review
A high-output permanent home system. Battery quantity matters when interpreting its headline inverter rating.

Our take
OCEAN Pro is worth researching for a home with substantial electrical loads or a larger storage target. Its published inverter and expansion capabilities make it a different proposition from EcoFlow’s portable power stations. The central question is how much of that capability the quoted battery configuration actually delivers. A large inverter rating should be matched to the battery bank, service and household loads.
OCEAN Pro at a glance
Check the model in your quote against these published details.
| Battery module energy | 10 kWh [1] |
|---|---|
| Published battery range | Up to 80 kWh per supported inverter arrangement [2] |
| Inverter rating | 24 kW; available battery output depends on configuration [3] |
| Solar input capability | Up to 40 kW; array and design limits apply [3] |
Capacity, continuous output and peak output measure different things. Compare like-for-like values for the complete configuration.
What is included in the system?
OCEAN Pro combines a solar-and-storage inverter with modular batteries and the control equipment for the installation. The inverter and batteries have distinct ratings. The datasheet should be used to match battery discharge capability to the proposed AC loads, rather than assuming the headline inverter figure applies to any number of modules.
Conceptual energy flow. The equipment and connections depend on the installation.
What can it power during an outage?
A high power ceiling can be useful for homes with multiple large loads, but it does not eliminate the need for a load calculation. Ask how the system handles appliance starting, low state of charge and periods without solar. The proposal should state battery-only continuous output for the supplied configuration and explain any load controls.
A high power rating does not guarantee a long runtime. Backup duration also depends on charge level, reserve settings, appliance use and available solar.
Existing solar and future expansion
Adding storage to a home with panels
The solar input capability is relevant to a new array design. It does not mean an existing array or inverter can be connected without checking electrical limits and the supported architecture. Separate the decision to retain existing solar from the decision to add OCEAN Pro. Ask how generation behaves during an outage and when storage is full.
Planning for more capacity
EcoFlow publishes a multi-module arrangement and broader system compatibility guidance. Plan the physical layout, conductors and controls for the intended final size. Increasing battery quantity can affect both duration and available discharge capability, but the completed design must remain within all equipment limits. The maximum published scale is not a recommendation for every home.
The advantages and the trade-offs
Reasons to shortlist it
- Published 24 kW inverter capability.
- 10 kWh battery modules with a defined expansion range.
- A dedicated permanent solar-and-storage platform.
What to weigh up
- A single battery module does not establish the full inverter’s available output.
- Larger configurations need appropriate space and electrical infrastructure.
- Portable DELTA specifications and accessories do not describe OCEAN Pro.
Warranty, monitoring and support
Use OCEAN Pro documents for warranty and service, rather than terms for portable products. Identify the installer responsible for commissioning and troubleshooting the permanent system. Keep homeowner monitoring access and the final equipment schedule. Ask how remote updates, replacement parts and site visits are handled over the ownership period.
A useful handover includes your equipment schedule, the applicable warranty documents, homeowner access to monitoring and a named service contact. Ask the installer to demonstrate the operating mode you are buying.
What affects the installed cost?
Compare the inverter, exact battery quantity, control equipment and site work. A large service or multiple high-load appliances can require additional electrical work regardless of the battery brand. Request a smaller configuration alternative if the proposal’s maximum capacity is not supported by your actual energy needs.
| Equipment | Battery quantity, inverter, gateway or transfer equipment and mounting |
|---|---|
| Electrical work | Panel changes, cable routes, protection and backed-up circuits |
| Delivery | Permits, installation, commissioning and monitoring handover |
| Aftercare | Workmanship cover, diagnostic visits and replacement labor |
Is OCEAN Pro right for your home?
Consider OCEAN Pro where its output and expansion capabilities solve a specific household requirement. For modest essential-load backup, compare the installation scope with a smaller system. The strongest case for this product is a demonstrated need for its capabilities, not simply the largest number on the specification sheet.

Your questions, answered
Is OCEAN Pro the same as a DELTA portable system?
No. OCEAN Pro is a permanent home solar-and-storage platform with its own installation requirements.
Does one 10 kWh module deliver 24 kW?
Do not infer that. The inverter and individual batteries have separate limits; check the complete configuration.
Does 40 kW solar input describe battery output?
No. Solar input, inverter output and stored energy are different specifications.
Sources and review method
This is a research-based assessment of published manufacturer information, not a hands-on laboratory test or an owner-review average. Our judgments explain the buying implications of the equipment and its limitations. We do not assign star ratings, invent installation prices or infer local installer availability from a product page.
Check the current US model, configuration and warranty before ordering. Where regional compatibility or terms could not be established, we say so in the review. Shortlist Solar is an installer referral service; a quote request is optional and subject to participating-installer availability.
