GoodWe Lynx Home FH-US review
Stackable high-voltage storage for a supported GoodWe inverter. Check the US family and usable-energy figures.

Our take
Lynx Home FH-US is worth considering as part of a compatible GoodWe installation. Its stack format gives a defined range of storage sizes, but the battery is one part of the system. The important comparison is the selected US stack plus inverter and backup equipment. Specifications from a global Lynx product page may describe a different battery.

Capacity, continuous output and peak output measure different things. Compare like-for-like values for the complete configuration.
What is included in the system?
The Lynx stack connects to a supported inverter that manages power conversion and operation. The proposal should include the battery control components, module count, inverter and any backup switching equipment. Review the system diagram alongside the equipment list. A photograph of a tall stack cannot tell you what capacity or output is included.
Conceptual energy flow. The equipment and connections depend on the installation.
What can it power during an outage?
The inverter and battery configuration determine what the home can run during an outage. Ask for the continuous AC output without solar and the usable energy available above the reserve setting. A heat pump or other motor load may need a starting-load assessment. The storage capacity alone is not enough to promise whole-home operation.
A high power rating does not guarantee a long runtime. Backup duration also depends on charge level, reserve settings, appliance use and available solar.
Existing solar and future expansion
Adding storage to a home with panels
An existing GoodWe installation needs a model-specific check. The fact that both products carry the same logo does not prove a supported pairing. Ask whether the existing inverter is retained or replaced, and how the solar array operates when the grid is disconnected. The answer should reference the US documentation for the actual equipment.
Planning for more capacity
The stack’s published size range offers options at design time. For later additions, confirm module compatibility, commissioning requirements and space before assuming the maximum remains available. Record the supported future arrangement in the proposal. Inverter output can stay unchanged even when more stored energy is added.
The advantages and the trade-offs
Reasons to shortlist it
- A published US stack range from 9.6 to 19.2 kWh.
- A defined battery family for supported GoodWe inverter combinations.
- Modular construction with manufacturer integration documentation.
What to weigh up
- The battery needs a compatible inverter and controls.
- Global Lynx names and US product specifications can differ.
- A larger stack does not automatically increase the inverter’s AC output.
Warranty, monitoring and support
Obtain the US battery warranty and the inverter warranty separately. Ask who diagnoses an issue across the stack, communications and inverter. Monitoring access and the final configuration should be handed to you when the installation is commissioned. Keep the exact product codes so future service does not rely on the broad Lynx family name.
A useful handover includes your equipment schedule, the applicable warranty documents, homeowner access to monitoring and a named service contact. Ask the installer to demonstrate the operating mode you are buying.
What affects the installed cost?
Compare identical stack sizes with the same inverter and backup scope. Include control equipment, mounting, wiring, permits and any solar-inverter replacement. A larger battery configuration can change labor and site requirements as well as hardware cost. Ask for a complete installed proposal before comparing it with an integrated AC battery.
| Equipment | Battery quantity, inverter, gateway or transfer equipment and mounting |
|---|---|
| Electrical work | Panel changes, cable routes, protection and backed-up circuits |
| Delivery | Permits, installation, commissioning and monitoring handover |
| Aftercare | Workmanship cover, diagnostic visits and replacement labor |
Is Lynx Home FH-US right for your home?
Shortlist Lynx FH-US when a supported GoodWe design meets the home’s energy and backup requirements. It is a more straightforward decision when the installer already supports that pairing. Be cautious about any quote that lists only “Lynx battery” without the US model, module count and inverter.

Your questions, answered
Is FH-US the same as every Lynx battery?
No. Use the US family’s documentation and the exact model code.
Does adding modules increase household output?
It may change battery capability, but the inverter can remain the AC output limit. Check the final system rating.
Will it work with my existing GoodWe inverter?
That requires a model-specific compatibility check against current US documentation.
Sources and review method
This is a research-based assessment of published manufacturer information, not a hands-on laboratory test or an owner-review average. Our judgments explain the buying implications of the equipment and its limitations. We do not assign star ratings, invent installation prices or infer local installer availability from a product page.
Check the current US model, configuration and warranty before ordering. Where regional compatibility or terms could not be established, we say so in the review. Shortlist Solar is an installer referral service; a quote request is optional and subject to participating-installer availability.
